• Thomas Ellis Hardee, born January 23, 1798, at Rural Felicity, was killed in 1839, in the streets of St. Marys by Charles Rosignol - because he had for good and sufficient reasons refused him permission to call upon his young daughters. He was 41 years of age and the father of eight children.
